How can I help my baby learn their day from night?

Have you wondered how to handle the daytime and nighttime sleep mix-up that babies start life with? Babies sleep all day and are up all night, this is not news to most people. Their circadian rhythm takes time to develop but there are some ways you can help!

Infant Sleep is a hot topic from the moment a baby’s born. There are so many misconceptions, myths and wrong ideas about what’s normal and what to expect. This is why I’ve invited my dear friend and colleague Kim Hawley onto the podcast to talk about circadian rhythms and how you can help support them as parents.

She will share some tips to help your baby get their days/nights sorted in the early days/weeks.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

A few main tips from Kim:

  • Do daytime naps in regular light with normal household noise

  • Keep lights dim and noises quiet for nighttime wake-ups

  • If you need light at night time use red lights

  • Get outside time every single day
