Quote from the show:
“So there's a few things I think about. One is obviously how you feel about them. Like I am a big believer in if you feel nervous or anxious around someone, or if they make you feel unsafe in some way, you have to listen to that. Like you have got to tune into your intuitive sense of that person. The second thing is if they have unrealistic expectations, right? Because the reality is that is not possible. And if you are under the illusion that I can guarantee you something like that, I don't find that safe to work with you, right? Because then you are going to hold me to that in a way that I actually cannot deliver on that. I mean, maybe that thing will happen at your birth. I do have lots of tools for those things, but I can't guarantee it. No one can. That's not something we can do. Okay. Another thing that I have seen a number of times is if clearly one person of the couple, if there is a couple, if there's a partner involved, isn't for you. And what I mean is I've had a couple calls where the pregnant person is clearly very excited about a doula, et cetera, et cetera. And the other person does not want to hire someone or they're kind of like, why should I pay you so much money?”
